Sony Nv U50T Sat Nav
User Reviews of the Sony NV-U50T Sat Nav / GPS Receiver

this unit does exacatly what it says on the tin, its never let me down, easy to use and very accurate, had this unit for 3 years and still wont give it up,oh and ignore poster above because after the very 1st time you use it,it locks on to gps signal in 5-10 seconds. reccomend this sat nav to any one.
Pros:
none
Cons:
lack of full post code but not a issue as you ut in the 1st part of post code then u pick your road.
Bought this product from a shop with full range of sat navs - tom tom, garmin etc. Bought the Sony for it's style, brand and Sony's reputation.
What a disappointment - takes 10-20 minutes to lock on to Satellites has strange logic for routes and seems to have some memory problems - on a short drive you often arrive before it starts working. On longer drives (1.5 hours plus) icons remain on the screen (e.g. motorway signs) and it slowly fills up and covers the map. It takes a full reset to clear the screen (using the on-off button on the top of the unit does not clear them).
A great pity for when it works, it is pretty good - clear maps & instructions, useful traffic reports etc. Only poor feature is it wont take the full UK postcode so you need street info.
Pros:
Ease of use
Cons:
Poor software

Got given a Sony navu50T to use for work in company Vehicle.Had previously only used Built in Sat Nav Systems so couldnt wait to get this out of the box and play with. Was i in for a surprise! On initial turn on everything cool with good screen ,Touch screen switching and easy to use. When on the road though even after upgrading software via Sony offcial site ,performance is poor.Only 3 digit postcode search causes problems,Have to enter towns most of time. And whilst driving map has got lost numerous times.Map probably out of date(uk). My friend owns a Garmin twice as useful half the price!!!
