Tempted to buy a 50in Pioneer, some reports and Pioneer's set-up manual 'Do's and Dont's' put me off - too many negatives! This Sony 46in LCD picture is simply STUNNING from HD and Digital sources matching a Plasma TV. At times the Digital Picture looks as good as HD. Unlike a Plasma, this Sony runs cool, low risk of screen imprint, no buzz from the screen or cooling fans, and uses less electricity. Built-in speakers are excellent. Once connected to your Sat Dish via a Sky box, the inbuilt digital tuner with CI slot came with free promotional channels like UK History and Sky Sports News.
The new Pace DS810XE Set-top box direct from Paceshop receives free BBC HD without a CI Card or monthly fee to Sky. It came with HDMI and Scart leads. The daisy-chain LNB connection Pace HD box to Sky box lost the Sky signal? A separate cable from a spare LNB feed restored Sky.
Chose a good value wooden Ikea Oppli TV base with 5 open compartments, without wheels for security.

Cons:
No PIP but Picture and Picture to freeze for an address or phone number.
Remote a bit cheap:needs more features.
Slow trawl through 6AV outputs in one direction- BBC HD on AV5
