Why bother paying extra money for Blu-Ray/HD-DVD when you can get almost as good a picture quality for quarter of the price. I was blown away by the picture from this Up-Scling DVD player. I was comparing the same movie using my regular DVD player and I couldn''t believe the difference. As an example, I was walking toward my Sony 40" 1080p LCD panel to see when I would detect the pixels. With the regular DVD player, it was 5 feets away and with the Sony 1080p player, I was standing right in front and still could barely see the pixels. I used an animation film (Meet the Robisons) to do this test as the digital quality is excellent. Remember, this test was done on a 1080P TV with HDMI connection. Should you use lesser than a 1080P TV and HDMI, expect the results to be not as good. I don''t like the remote ! To fragile in my opinion. I like the HDMI blue light telling your when connected properly. Sony are back on top of their business !
