A shame the other reviewer had so many issues. I also bought from John Lewis and have had my Supresso for a few months now.
It has been fault free and makes great coffee. You do need to follow the initial set-up instructions carefully... it cleans and primes itself. This is somewhat ''confusing'' if you''re expecting to plug in and get coffee within seconds. Read the instructions is all I can say - it is worthwhile. Also it''s worth understanding how to set up the water ''type'' (hard/soft/filtered) as this partially determines when it will ask to be descaled... Mine has only done that once (after two months of daily use) and, well... hmm.. that was not the most straightforward process - the documentation is not as clear as it could be.
I did get thru it but on this first go it was more of a chore than it needed to be. The coffee is great however.. and the steamer works really well also (my wife has become a real fan of Latte''s at the weekend). You do need to pre-warm the cups, particularly if you''re serving short (expresso) coffees. I''ve been trying different beans and some pre-ground expresso coffees and getting quite a variety of flavors (some better than others). and also encountered an issue which they describe in the documentation.
I picked up one pack of beans that was REALLY oily... they do not always feed into the grinder (they ''stick'') and you end up having to provide some encouragement by tapping the coffee bean ''silo''. As I said, it''s a documented ''issue'' and not a big deal but I thought I''d note it.
