Samsung LE32R74BDX Lcd Tv
User Reviews of the Samsung LE32R74BDX 32 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television

This TV is fantastic to look at. The gloss black finish is as good as any TV on the market, but is a big dust magnet, leave the enclosed cleaning cloth to hand, you will need it a lot.
Performance wise, this set fails to deliver on Low Def pictures as we havnt got Sky HDTV yet.
Pictures:Generally okay, but if watching something like the intro the news, MTV or other programmes where there are moving light levels or where the screen fades in from black then the brightness level changes are not smooth. It seems as though it cannot handle smooth changes and makes the changes in steps. Even watching the intro to the BBC news was a pain the arse.
Sound:Lacking in any depth, particuarly on the bass. Dont be fooled by the fancy sounding SRS Trusound, it just sounds like a normal 2 speaker TV set - if you want anything sounding okay, go for a TV with more than 2 speakers or a home cinema set.
Do not buy this TV - it is rubbish! We sent ours back with 7 days - distance selling regs
Pros:
Looks fantastic
Cons:
Picture flicker on brightness changes
Sound quality
Ok...
I'm a complete newbie to Hdtv and everything, but over the last few weeks I've been hitting as many websites as possible to do my research...and finally I ended up purchasing this little beauty.
I have to say right now...believe the hype! High Definition is absolutely incredible. For my xbox 360 it's just blown every game out of the screen! The detail is truly immense, and the games are just outstanding to look at. The TV itself is a great picture, one of the best I've seen - incredible contrast and clarity you've never witnessed before. The Digital freeview inbuilt is also GREAT quality - Even though we are only using a little plug-in aerial. It even picked up loads more channels than our seperate digital freeviewer that we were using before!
GET IT! GET IT! GET IT!
Ps. Dont believe all the crud you read about poor sound...to the untrained ear, i think the sound quality is great :)
Pros:
Pretty Much Everything...
o Looks Great
o Amazing Picture
o Great Sound
o Big
o Reeks of Quality
o Just...outstanding
Cons:
Only poor thing is a thing with all of these good new tvs - older films and documentaries are really shown up on their poor quality. But that's hardly the tvs fault.

'Man that’s a good looking TV' were the first words uttered from my mouth. I set up the TV without getting my mitts all over the glossy side panels, plugged it in, read some of the manual before getting too giddy and just turned it on. It boots up, tunes itself in and shows you what its packing! Wow what a picture, the colour just pours out of the screen. Even in standard definition I feel like I have been missing so much with previous TV's, why has simple things like text been so unclear until now? The picture is so clear and sharp. As with most flat panel TV's the sound is rubbish but isn't noticeable until you plug in surround sound. The time has come to plug in the Xbox 360 and to put it simply its awesome. I can't possibly put into words the difference a good telly does to the signal from this machine. My Xbox 360 came with some HD videos and to see the TV in full HD is amazing. To put it simply, I love this TV! For the price (£630) I would point you towards this television.
Pros:
Standard definition picture.
High definition picture.
The styling is amazing.
Cons:
Speaker output is a bit naff.
The glossy side panels seem to attract a lot of dust, is that just me? Probably, I do have two rather large hairy dogs!
I plugged in my PS2 and put the LCD into gaming mode the picture is fantastic. I connected up the TV aerial into the back of the LCD it automatically tuned in the channels using the integrated freeview. The video review I find misleading. I have seen other LCD TVs and you can see tiny squares but this TV is sharp and has an excellent picture. DVD picture quality is also excellent not like the review says. I wonder what DVD player and cables they used. The pictures are bright clean crisp and clear. Blacks and Colours are very good. I do use higher graded cables between equipment so it gives me the best picture I can get for the budget I have. DVD is a Limit Dvd800 Tuned by Cyrus with an Ixos scart cable. A Component cable or HDMI setup should give a better over all pictures. PC picture is VERY sharp. HD Video clips from Microsoft and Apple the pictures incredible, amazing, stunning colours and detail no pixels out of place. 10/10 would buy another one tomorrow VERY PLEASED !!!
Pros:
ALL
Cons:
NONE
I have this TV set up in the lounge and the look is very impressive. I disagree with the Editors review, if you take the time to mess around with the picture settings, it can produce very impressive results, Do not just go with the Out of box settings!! In fact the picture is identical to my new Sony BRAVIA in the Front room.
Inbuilt freeview is ok, but i would recommend using External freeview/sky from a Set top box with RGB scart. The pic from that blows the fuzzy inbuilt freeview out of the water. DVD should also be used on either S-Video, HDMI or Component RGB. Like with all equipment, take some time to set the screen up properly and you get a very good pic indeed. The image does suffer from a small amount of motion lag, This is not to do with the response time but the way the tv deals with interlaced video.
Sound is feeble like all LCD screens due to depth, however a good home cinema system connected via the optical out gives impressive results.
Pros:
Contrast & Black level.
Overall Picture quality on SD content.
HD Picture is very deep and impressive.
Good with low quality signals compared to other LCD's
Cons:
Inbuilt Sound.
Skin tones on SD signal
Motion lag on SD signal

Just bought this Tv and put it on the wall in our Kitchen.

Sounds Great
Picture is great although when sky is watched it loses it''s sharpness a little.
