Samsung Digimax D53
User Reviews of the Samsung Digimax D53

This was my very first digital camera. I bought it a few Christmas'' ago and I''m not in the least bit impressed. No matter what batteries you buy for it it eats them within 3 pictures. Then the camera beeps at you wildly and shuts down...sometime pulling in the lense, sometimes not. The picture quality is just okay. I didn''t expect the best for $100 but this camera is just a joke...I won''t buy anything with the samsung name on it again.
Pros:
Fairly straight forward to operate
Cons:
Eats batteries
Poor Zoom quality
Picture quality just okay
had the exact same problem the camera was not working. when you turn it on it beeps and immediately turns itself off but the zoom lens does not go back in. initially i touht it may be some sort of child saftey lock , gone wrong
I took out the memory card, charged the batteries, I used hih powered alkalines, but nothing. Then I noticed the lens was crooked as if it was stuck.I pulled it out and I heard it click into place, only a slight tug and hey presto, turned power .fixed !!!! lense track out of align ment,, kids where playing with camera ... Anyway Fantasic camera and excelletnt video quality
Pros:
Anyway Fantasic camera and excelletnt video quality
Cons:
none

me compre la camara D53 ME A SALIDO EXSELENTE PERO AHORA TENGO UN PROBLEMA CON EL FLACHS QUE PUEDO HACER AYUDA GRACIAS
Like others I have been much disappointed by this camera. I sent it in for warranty repair (which is costly when you consider the shipping cost and the S/H fee of the repair shop that Samsung uses) and they made a repair to the lens mechanism. It helped for a while, but now it is again defective. Apparently there is some sort of flaw with the lens "motor" that results in the camera eating up batteries and shutting down. I am trying to get Samsung to make things right, but you know how that can go.
This camera has given me nothing but trouble. The batteries run out after ive taken about about 2 pictures, its been sent it back to the shop after only a couple of outings and the thing still wont work.
If your thinking of buying a Samsung camera my advise would be dont they are a waste of money!!!
Pros:
none
Cons:
Doesnt work!!

I use Lithium batteries and only had to change the batteries twice and I've had the camera for well over a year now. I also like the editing feature and the ability to change color schemes too.
If you are think of buying this camera DON''T. I got the camera for a Christmas gift and its not reliable. You put new batteries in and it still does not work. You try to take a picture the screen goes black and it shuts off. Then you try to get it to shut off and it gives you a hard time. Then when you turn it on it shows the battery bar full which it showed low a second ago. It is a waste of money. My brother has a Sony camera and it is excellent it takes great pictures. Next time I get a camera i''m going with Sony. I hope this review is helpful and will safe people from the buying this and having trouble.
I received this for xmas and have lost the instructions. Don''t know what to do.
Can you help me or email an instruction page.
Thank You

I bought this camera for my husband for Christmas 2006.It has given him a hole lot of trouble. The camera shuts off and won''t turn back on without changing batteries and even then it has a very low battery power stay ability. Can''t use regular batteries for any more than 10 to 20 pictures. I used new rechargeable ones and only got maybe 50 pics with some review and deleting. My camera can use the same batteries, I get 250 pictures with LCD screen running and deleting and adjusting with no problems. I definitely want my money back. This is a terrible camera.
Pros:
Can't think of anything.
Cons:
Low battery usage
My wife gave me a SamsungD53 Digimax, and it is really great. With a large viewing screen and easily readable controls, it takes great pictures, instantly re-viewable, and small enough to keep in the pocket for immediate use.
Pro: Great compact digital camera for the price. Features and zoom work well. Picture quality is very good.
Con: The batteries 'do' wear out quickly. Be sure to keep a couple extra sets on hand!
Pros:
Photo quality; Features; Zoom is good for a small camera; 1 MP to 5MP option; Low shutter lag; Low next-shot delay; Has manual controls
Cons:
Battery life is low. Have an extra set on hand (or two) if shooting for a day.

it is a great camera but........ the bateries run out in about every 15 mins. but other then that it''s great. as long as you have bateries then your good!
