User Reviews of the Samsung DVDR119 DVD Recorder

Stylish and affordable dvd recorder with easy set up. Very informative manual. Since purchasing it I have only used DVD-R discs to record, which I had no problems with. Unfortunately I have had problems with machine accepting DVD-RW discs. Tried 5 different brands 3 of which are recommended in the manual and I still have had no success formating them to record anything. Very frustrating and costly. I am now going to spend more money on a cleaning disc to see if a dirty lense has caused the machine to be sensitive to these discs.
i bought one of theses and it recorded fine but playback of pre-recorded discs was lousy. it kept stopping, skipping and freezing. Been trying to contact the store that sold it to me with no success so far. Looking at other reviews it seems as though i got unlucky and got a duff one as they are generally reported as good.
Pros:
easy set-up
Cons:
doesn't play pre-recorded dvds.

I received the DVD player 3 days ago, it was easy enough to set up. The manual has basic layouts for all the different setups and once it's plugged in it basically sorts itself out for finding channels etc. The one touch recording is easy to use but don't expect to be able to record within 10 seconds of deciding you need to! This DVD player does not do anything quickly, it takes about 30 seconds to load and only then can you check the disc for free space and then it one touch recording. Other than that it's a nice piece of equipment if you're looking for a budget DVD recorder, also note that the picture displayed on Unbeatable does not match the pictures displayed on the seller websites, it's worth checking out as the DVD player is far more stylish than pictured.

Pros:
Good for the price, stylish DVD recorder. Couldn't ask for more!
Cons:
Takes it's time to load and is a little noisy when it's playing back recorded DVD (seems to play pre recorded DVD's just fine)
