Sagem HD D56 56 in HDTV Television Reviews Information

I purchased the HD45 model 18 months ago. What the sales do not tell you is that the bulb (without which this TV will not work) is only covered by a 3 month warranty. The marketing gives the bulb a life of 6000 - 9000 hours, mine blew at less than 1200 hours. A new bulb for th HD45 model costs £300-£350 and theoretically you could be paying that out every 4 months .. an expensive consumable. In my experience Customer Serives at SAGEM are extremely difficult to track down. Many UK phone numbers don't work or route you through to Austria who are unable to help. They have been unsympathetic .... at one point I was made to feel that my TV switching on and off technique was faulty (hence my rating on ease of use as it must be very difficult if I could not master it and was in fact the cause of my poor bulb performance). After 18 months of life I now have a very expensive radio. I would personally never purchase a SAGEM product again.
