Appliances Prestige PRT295FFCS Fridge

Why Purchase this?- We purchased this appliance after our previous appliance failed. The previous unit was covered by a warranty so therfpore we qusalified for a replacement. However the replacment being offered was not to our requirements. The Prestige PRT295FFCS was not being offered but we saw it instore and we were willing to pay a substantial amount towards it. The warranty company agreed. In addition the Prestige PRT295FFCS had more space in the fridge compartment; with more options to change the door and shelf storage. This meant all of the fridge capacity was useable. This was very beneficial to our household as we hold alot of special feeds and medicines in the fridge.Even with these in we still had ample space for food and beverages. What we love about it? The overall appearance of it was much nicer than the other brands; Its looks sleek and contempory. Taking delivery- We had to wait almost 8 weeks to take delivery from COMET.(had to buy a little beer fridge for the interim period) We have had the appliance just under 1 year when problems developed.(1 week less of the year to be precise-I have been trying unsuccessfully to get through on the Prestige Technical helpline for the past few days. I finally got to speak to someone today from COMET and after getting the approval from his superior they have agreed to send an engineer to inspect the appliance at no charge as it is 1 day out of warranty) Problems- The freezer compartment temperature will fluctuate from -18C to as high as -10C for no reason; The room temp is within the manufactures guidelines, the doors have not been opened, it is not located near direct sunlight, or heat sources, no fresh food has been put in. I have also noticed the fridge compartment is full of water under the salad trays. Having cleaned the drainage hole of water the same happened again the day after. Overall- I find it hard to believe that a fridge freezer can not last 12 months. We had a palava trying to get this after our previous fridge freezer failed; a less superior brand but never the less this lasted 5 years!!!!!! We hope this can be easily rectifed because we dont fancy being without a fridge again for almost 2months.
