Pioneer Pdp427XD Plasma Tv
User Reviews of the Pioneer PDP-427XD 42 in. Plasma Television

Pioneer plasma tv picture qulity has to be the best by far ,looks are great too infact everything about it is great until that is you have had it a while, not only do you have to put up with the constant buzzing but when it goes wrong which it will when its over two years old you find pioneer custumer services could,nt care less if your lucky enough to get hold of some one who actaully nows what your talking about.
Pros:
fab picture.tv looks good.
Cons:
custumer services.back up and local service centers.
Took my time choosing what plasma to buy, I believe anything above 32'''' should be a plasma and I''m glad I paid the extra an got this Pioneer, OK it didn''t come with a stand as the 4270XD but you get picture in picture and two hdmi i/p.
Build Quality is excellent, Picture quality excellent on DVD (will look for a upscaler dvd 1080i), Xbox360 1080i looks fantastic, standard TV and sky (haven''t upgraded) good enough as this is a HD TV rightfully, Can support 1080p but believe only 24Hz blue ray dics format.I have read that people don''t like the remote I can''t see why it matches the TV with the same look and is metal not cheap plastic also you can programme it for your sky boxes, dvd/dvr, and vcr with all manufacturer codes supplied so three extra devices can be easily added.
Sound quality I like but I also go though a Teac 5.1 surround a must again for the 360.
So I am very pleased I didn''t buy cheaper, I got this from electrosaver for 1190 inc delivery
Pros:
Build quality
Picture quality
Sound quality
2 hdmi etc
Cons:
You could say price but you get what you pay for

having read lots of reviews and watched the sony w2000,panasonic px600 and the pioneer, I was left in little doubt that the pioneer was the best in this price range. It gives the best freeveiw picture in my opinion, which is at least 50% of my veiwing. The dvd picture looks great and the hi def looked fine but then again almost every tv does look fantastic in this mode. Set up was quite painless and you get to choose between analogue or freeveiw broadcast modes. My only gripe would be at the size of the black surround....though not as large as some, its still quite impossing. very striking though.
Pros:
off air broadcast
dvd play back
ease of use
Cons:
large surround
Took delivery of this new set, and I have to say that it is great, the picture quality is superb the ease of setting it up is great too! Really happy with it, keep playing with the settings, but the standard seem to be just fine, normal TV is a bit grainy, but when you play games or watch a DVD that is when you notice the difference.
IF you were going to buy a 42" Plasma, I woudl definatly say that this is the one. I have yet to hook it up with HMDI and have just placed the order for the Telewest TV drive, once all that is installed I am sure that the picture quality of TV will be much better.
