User Reviews of the Pioneer AVIC-S1 Sat Nav / GPS Receiver
Good but...

This is my first foray into the world of sat nav and using the Avic S1 comes with mixed blessings. The unit is housed in a neat thin shiny black body and has a good flexible stalk on suction mount to enable you to position it just where you want. It has three discrete controls on the front which allow you to control the volume, go to the map and go to the menu. Thereafter a soft tap on the screen will run you through the rest of the functions. I liked every thing about this product, bright screen very clear and loud audio but was frustrated by limited four digit post code search and its ability to sometimes not choose either the shortest or the fastest route. It did always get me to my destination though! Certainly worth looking at.
Pros:
Good looking. Nice all black body does not reflect on the windscreen. Good mounting. Clear audio. Easy controls. Intuitive menu - works out of the box. Responsive.
Cons:
No full post code search. Not always the best route.
