Philips 28DW6559 Tv
User Reviews of the Philips 28DW6559 Tv
This TV is shockingly bad. The digital tuner has never worked properly, corrupted by a series of poor software downloads from Philips. Customer care from Philips and Currys has been disgraceful. It has now ceased to function, and will only receive picture from digital stations but no sound.
Pros:
none
Cons:
Avoid at all costs. Unlikely to ever buy another Philips product again.
Considering the Comet internet price was just under £300, this product is good value for money.
However, in the 6 months since I purchased this TV, the reliability of the digital tuner has been very poor.
My overall disatisfaction has been exacerbated by the poor response from the Comet appointed technician who was dispatched to repair the faults in my home. He made no attempt to investigate the problems but took a guess that the aerial installation was inadequate. The aerial has, subsequently, been inspected by a specialist and certified as being OK. In the meantime, the digital tuner has ceased to function and I can only receive the 5 analogue stations. I await the return of the man from Comet.

Pros:
Compared to a 26" LCD TV, this set offers better picture & sound at a fraction of the price.
Cons:
1) When changing to a different digital channel, the TV locks up - sound but no picture. The 'freeze' usually lasts 1-2 minutes. During this time, none of the remote control functions operate.
2) Digital channels switch off - the screen goes blank for a few seconds and then it switches to a different channel. This switch-off, repeats every two minutes.
3) The digital tuner has now ceased to function.
