User Reviews of the Philips 26PFL5522D 26INCH Lcd Tv
Fantastic looking LCD TV out of the box. On switching on the TV searches out Digital freeview stations and automatically stores them. It seemed to find most of these OK despite not having the strongest signal, I was using a telescopic portable aerial. I was however only able to view 1 digital TV channel (BBC1) but to be fair this is due to the signal feed not being off a roof mounted aeriel, but cured by using a booster ubit I had to hand. However did not fair too well on finding the few analogue channels (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Ch 4 & 5), had to resort to maual intervention to program those.
I like the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that you can select what''s on, and a nice feature is the EPG tells you how long is left of the programme you have selected. It''s not as flash as Sky''s EPG but it does the job.
I also use the TV for gaming and use the Red, Green & Blue connectors from the X-box to a dedicated input on the TV (ones on the back of the set, not the AV inputs) as this gives a super picture for gaming. There are also 2 HDMI inputs, 2 scart inputs etc) so lots of expansion possibilities.
Likes:
Picture quality (although this demands a good source)
Lots of onscreen picture adjustments (sharpness, contrast etc)
Sound quality
Build quality
Some good discounts available from high street
Dislikes:
Pity the base doesn''t swivel
