A Picture of Satisfaction!

I was always going to buy a new TV but was overwhelmed by the amount of choice & conflicting advice available so I set out my priorities. I would mainly be watching movies & sport (on standard definition but with the option to upgrade later). The picture should be sharp, able to cope with fast movement and display good colour. Sound wasn''t as important because I planned to pump the audio through my stereo.
I''d already decided to go for LCD over plasma because of the lower cost and compariable picture quality. For a while I was tempted by the Samsung LE32R87 (rave reviews, great value for money and 3 HDMI sockets) but saw how poorly it coped with a standard definition signal so decided to pay a little more & go with this Panasonic model. Since then, I have had no regrets! Setup was easy and the screen size is ideal for my room (viewing distance of around 5-6ft). Standard definition TV (from a digital signal) is fine and watching movies/sport is great. The next step will be try a full, high-def input and see how good the upscaling is. Overall, I strongly recommend this product.
Pros:
Stylish looks, picture quality.
Cons:
Slightly cumbersome method of switching between inputs.

Have just bought this TV over Internet. Looked at many LCD TVs over the last year and this was clearly the best picture with good sound. In my opinion, the Samsung has a good picture, but sound is tinny. The Phillips looks good in HD, but has a strange heat haze effect around characters in SD. The Toshiba WLT has resoanble picture and sound, but the Panasonic is the better picture (new Toshiba C3030 is particuarly poor).
The 100Hz processing on the Panasonic gives very crisp images. Would definitely pay the extra over the LMD model for the 100Hz processing - hard to quantify fully, but left with the general impression that the picture is sharper with more detail (noticeable when the imge updates because of fast movement or camera pan).
The Panasonic pulls out a huge amount of detail on SD. Black is very black, but can still see levels of subtlety in shading on dark colours.
Overall thoroughly recommmend for the price.
Pros:
Excellent picture, Good sound, AutoSetup very easy, Remote control easy to use. Manual doesn't explain the effects of the picture settings well - need to experiment.
Cons:
Not the most stylish TV, Remote control looks cheap (will be using my Chameleon)
