Panasonic TH37PX60 Plasma Tv

I bought this plasma tv as "HD ready" - ie ready for the future. Unfortunately, I didn't do any research, and now discover that "HD ready" is bettered by "HD1080". We consumers are "conned" by the manufacturers into buying the "latest" and "future proof" consumer electronics. Thousands of people will have bought "HD ready" beleiving that they will be able to receive the ultimate picture quality (as and when it is widely available!!!!) when in actual fact to get the best quality, you will need an "HD1080" tv. Many people will now fork out for "HD1080", and the chances are their original "HD ready" tv never received a high definition signal in the first place!

I have just bought online delivered as promised with a call to have the day before to confirm delivery. Excellent plasma although I to hav had a slight buzzing from the set, the delivery man said if you get this turn it off for 4 hours. I will ring Panasonic customer services to check. Paid £1089 the cheapest on the web at the moment.

I have just bought a Panasonic TH37PX60 Plasma TV from John Lewis. The first day after running it for a while it started making an audible continuous droning noise that could be heard above the audio of the TV. When I phoned JL after it asked how near I was sitting to the TV it said that it was usual for Plasma TV's to make a background noise due the fans. The TV is going back to JL for examination, but at present it is not admitting this is a fault. I was interested to read the unbeatable's review of the new TH-42PHD8UK and the reference to the whining of the fans on other Panasonic models. I wondered if anyone else had encounterd this problem.

I purchased this TV with the floor stand from Powerhouse due to a decent discount and an excellent finance offer. I had been considering a 32" LCD as my upgrade from a 28" Panasonic CRT but the quality of the Panasonic Plasma swayed my decision. So far I have been very impressed. I have no HD feeds to test it with yet but with Sky, Freeview and DVD the picture is excellent even at the reduced settings I am running it at for an initial period (Contrast, Brightness etc below 50%).

I have had this tv just over a week now. It was purchased from Currys and delivery was on time, they even phoned the day before to give me a time slot. As for the tv all I can say is WOW!!!!!. The set up was very easy and no problems were encountered, I have reduced the brightness and contrast down to a lower level as recommended on the AVforum web site, this is to run in the screen and give it a longer life, the recommendation is 200 hours, so I'm half way there now. The picture quality is fantastic with beautiful colours and lovely blacks. Sound quality is adequate to good, but I have surround sound anyway.
