Humax PVR 8000T 20 Hours Video Recorder Reviews Information
User Reviews of the Humax PVR-8000T (40 GB) 20-Hours Video Recorder
This is an excellent product very well supported by a very helpful back up team who are always ready to help out with any problems you might have with a change from old VCR technology to computer based video recording.nThe whole process is a step change whereby programming used to be only comprehensible to one's children to one where you select the programme on the electronic programme guide screen you want to record and then press the OK button is all that's needed. The time shift facility is far most useful than you think it will be. The other big bonus of course is that has an intergrated freeview receiver. The only sensible way to go digital.
It is such a great product that I have recommended it to all my friends and have now bought the twin tuner version the PVR-9200T

Pros:
High quality construction, stylish, easy to set up and use, updated automatically over air, as the hard drive is a standard PC HDD it is upgradeable to higher capacity. I doubled mine to 80GB with no difficulty at all.
Cons:
Occasional mismatch between start or finish times with actual broadcast, usually as result of broadcasts are not running exactly on schedule. Usual disadvantage of digital that you can't record one programme whilst watching another digital programme. (You can watch an analogue one at the same time)Not a Humax problem and one they have now solved with the 9200T
