Hotpoint WD865A Washer Dryer

I brought this washing machine last year september and within 1mth it broke down, F13 fault, i called hotpoint customer service and the sent out an engineer to "fix" the problem......which he did....and for a few months all was well until it broke down again with over heating again it was repair, and then again a few weeks later.

Have just had my 4th call out and the problem remains the washing machine makes alot of noise when spinning it overheats, does NOT stop automatically at the end of a circle, LED panel does not work, dyer does not work at all, and the worst thing is every time i switch this piece of CRAP on it blows of my electic.

Hotpoint are refusing to exchange it, they keep floging me off with the same story "we''ll send our engineer to repair it, if he finds that the machine needs to be replace we will replace it" (I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE ENGINEER THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AS THE DECISION TO REPLACE AN APPLIANACE LIES WITH HOTPOINT AND NOT THE ENGINEER) Am fed up with dealing with HOTPOINT and there customer service team, am left with a machine that could potentially cause fire in my home so if you are thinking of purcha sing this machine please DONT!

My WD865A machine has broken down 3 times already since I bought it in Jan 07. Each time a loud bang has come from the machine, followed by an electrical burning smell and smoke from the top of the machine. In addition it trips the kitchen electrics each time this has happened. The first time it happened (April 07) it took them over a month to get parts to fix the machine. The 2nd time the machinebroke was in July 07 and was fixed was just last week (start of Sep 07), and it has happened again today. Have called Hotpoint and they will send an engineer out in about 10 days. I''m really quite appalled at how badly this machine must have been designed for it to go wrong so often, and cant help but feel that we can''t leave a wash unattended for fear that it might cause a fire or something if it goes wrong. I''ll see if Hotpoint can replace this machine, and if it keeps going wrong may have to see if I can get a refund and upgrade to a more reliable make of washing machine. Altogether quite dissapointed.

I would not recomend any one to buy this washer/dryer, it is crap, it just breaks down all the time and hotpoint are very slow when it comes to fixing it. My machine sound like it is going to take off into space and i only ever wash small bundles of clothes at a time (a normal size load makes even more noise) I cant use it a night as i wakens my kids and hotpoint are a nightmare to deal with. Ive had no choice but to pay for the extended guarantee as i know it will break down within the month. The only good thing is the child lock. Dont buy it, you will be lucky if it still works after 3 month.

like i said, we have had endless problems, well the same one actually, heat part of the dryer keeps going wrong, please avoid this machine, it will cost you fortunes in days off work, i think this machine was manufactured solely as a means of keeping break down engineers in work. a real piece of crap this one

This washer dryer is a total waste of money and time. We had 14 call outs (with the same fault (F13)) for the first WD and now 4 callouts with this one bearing in mind it is only 6 months old. Again fault F13. Steer clear of this one.
