User Reviews of the Hotpoint SDW60P Freestanding Dishwasher 50cm
I bought this dishwasher a month ago - my first ever! And I don''t know how I managed without one. My kitchen is quite small and this dishwasher doesn''t take up too much space. It is good looking and efficient, I use the quick wash most often and everything comes out sparkling. Plastic items don''t dry too well but I think this is the same with any dishwasher. It''s capacity is fine for me, there only being two of us now, but think I''d struggle if I still had a houseful. Quieter than I expected, I hardly notice it.
All in all, very pleased with it, would happily recommend.
After many years of owning a Bosch slimline dishwasher, it packed up, it would cost more to repair than it was worth. We could have taken out a 5 year guarantee at £99 per year when we bought it but we didn''t! After 5 years this would have cost us nearly £500 and it never went wrong! The machine packed up 3 weeks after the 5 year guarantee would have expired - aint it always the case, £500 down the drain!
Off we went in search of another dishwasher. I really wanted a silver one as all our ''white'' goods are silver.
There was no way I wanted anything to do with Matsui, Proline or Indiset, so settled on the Hotpoint SDW60P which would have Lawrence Lewellyn Bowen turning in his grave at it was white! - clashed with the kitchen Dahlings!
Well, all I can say is, it arrived with ''made by Indiset'' stamped on the box which immediately sent me into a state of paranoia, but how wrong can one be?
I am delighted with it. It''s slim, white, and fits into the space left by the recently demised Bosch, but there the comparison ends.
LED controls lets you know exactly what it''s doing, no, there is no countdown to tell you how long it has to run but, read the book and it''ll tell you how long each programme takes.
It tells you if it''s washing, rinsing, drying etc and when it''s finished it''s cycle.
All my washing up has turned out perfectly and, unlike the Bosch, the ''Quick wash'' programme (all of 40 minutes to wash, rinse and dry) works far better than it''s predecessor, crockery actually comes out spotless and as dry as a bone! Even plastic items which, in it''s previous counterpart one had to bale out, only has the odd water mark here or there if at all.
We bought this from Eurotronics and cost £229 in Nov 2007, we collected and saved on delivery which is roughly £20, as opposed to another Bosch at £425.
I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone looking for a slimline dishwasher.
