Noisy HS-1040RE

This fan looks good with the chrome theme. The unit I bought from screwfix has 4 shiny blades. However, if you search the internet for the model, you''ll see different images, with 3 large blades and different machine altogether so this is confusing. I bought this for the bedroom and it was average effor to put together. The cable is shorter than most cheaper units and worst of all, the fan is NOISY. While the motor may be quiet, the blades are way too noisy for the bedroom. I tried this during the day when such noises are usually drowned by the ambient noise but not with this unit. It sounded like I was standing near a wind turbine. This may be because the 4 blades are smaller and thinner, made from thin metal so they are fairly flimsy, hence vibrate too much. I will have to return this unit which is a shame because it scored highly in the looks department and with the remote control it is very ideal for a lazy life in bed. The third disappointment is that the oscillation movement is the common hard control and it not possible from the remote controller. At £40, this unit has disappointed greatly. Buy this if you need it for the loft or lounge or if you do not plan to use it.
Pros:
Good looks Remote control
Cons:
Noisy blades Short lead Oscillation not possible from remote
