Hitachi L42VP01C Lcd Tv - 42 inch TV

Reviewed a wall of lcd''s in Richer Sounds. This and the LG stood out in picture quality and ''natural'' appearance but as the Hitachi was £100 cheaper it came home. Very happy with the choice but have to say picture quality in standard definition is superb some days and naff on others. Solved that by getting a Humax Freesat Box which upgrades standard def to 1080, taking it fairly close to HD broadcasts. As Freesat gives you 90+ channels (and growing regularly) which includes BBC and ITV HD you very rarely have to view anything else. Have got SKY through a Panasonic digibox and that is pretty good too. All in all, very happy with the choice
