User Reviews of the Fuji Finepix S9600 Digital Camera
Great Bridge camera

The review states that this camera is heavy and can't be used with one hand. Unless you are a weakling this is not true. I have the 9500 and hold it with 1 hand all the time. From the samples I've seen I would say the 9500 has a little less sharpness and contrast processing in camera which, in my opinion results in a less noisy better looking image than the 9600. If you can find a 9500 and do any post processing I would recommend the 9500 over this version if you can find one. I also have never had the camera shut down from turning the dial too fast. The main problem I have is slow focusing indoors with low light. Because of this I plan on purchasing a DSLR but will keep the 9500 as a backup.
Pros:
The lens and speed in good light.
Cons:
slow focusing in poor light

Despite the 9 megapixels, the photographic resolution is scarcely any better than my 4-megapixel Olympus C770, which also has a 10:1 optical zoom. The advantages of the Fuji lie in the numerous built-in 'gadgets' which allow such things as sound-commentary, variable ISO-rating for faint light photography, high-quality monochrome photography option and so on. Check out the specification but don't expect the extra-fine resolution which you might expect from 9 megapixels if you want to 'crop' your pictures to a smaller size. The weight has been the subject of criticism, but is not a problem if you come from Nikon 35mm SLR cameras.
Pros:
speed of response. wide choice of features. good ergonomic layout.
Cons:
disappointing resolution
