Bush RPA 1 Turntable Reviews Information
User Reviews of the Bush Rpa 1 Turntable
I have read the other report on this site and would strongly suggest that you do not buy this product even though it can be puchased for under £40. I was originally drawn to this product as I have a stack of 45''s that I wanted to play. The turntable has serious speed stability issues and the first two samples I had of this machine mistracked it''s way through most of my 45''s, the 3rd does play them but still suffers from speed instability. The sound through the built in speakers is terrible when using the record deck and is better when using the built in tuner but the speakers can''t be muted when playing through the line out sockets when using either radio or turntable. Build quality is not that great as my first sample had screws rattling around inside that had broken out of the wood base securing the speakers.
If you want a record player rather than a record deck I would suggest looking on ebay and buying either a Dansette or similar type record player.
I really wanted to like this product but I ended up very dissappointed.
Pros:
Compact unit
Easy to use
Cons:
Speed instability of record deck
Sound quality of record deck due to ceramic cartridge.
Can''t mute the speaker when using the line out sockets
first one I bought played LPs fine but turntable stopped before the end when playing 45rpm singles. brought it back to store and got replacement. This one played all records fine, but "line out" wouldn`t work when trying to play turntable through my stereo system. Both turntables also had problems when trying to use headphones - the sound continued to come through the turntable`s speakers, as well as through headphones. The most disappointing thing for me is not being able to play it through my other stereo speakers. Other than that it is a nice compact machine, if you are happy to accept its limitations.
