User Reviews of the Bush RF2194D TV
Is integral Freeview a good idea?
Graham Tankins - 8/9/2007 12:06:23pm
I have a had a separate Freeview unit for some time and as I needed a new TV I thought a digital TV with the integral freeview facility would be ok. I use an ALBA RDVD1002 DVD recorder instead of a VCR to record programmes for my own personal viewing, the DVD recorder being a very good machine. So the new BUSH RF2194D is set up, scart connections in place, sound and picture to my liking, channels set up ok and everything exactly as I would expect it to be. So I decide to record a programme via these two pieces of equipment and as it is late naturally I leave the the recorder set to on and switch the TV to standby and surprise surprise the dvd recorder grinds to a halt with a red warning lights in the front panel. This never happened when I had a separate top box. So I telephoned BUSH customer services and after going through the usual choice of buttons to press and listening to the recorded tune, which sounded like a loop that was repeated every 30 seconds, I was eventually connected to a call centre. After slowly explaining my problem the lady told me I was to be put on hold and she would check why the recording device switches off when TV is on standby. I was told that the technical department would contact me in 48 hours (still waiting). In the meantime I tried several different permutations of scart connections but to no avail. At this time i am not pleased with the RF2194D. We cant always get good reviews?
