The switch does what it says, but it can limit your equipment.
Be aware that it is USB 1.1, so if you have USB 2.0 peripherals - printers, scanners etc to connect you will be effectively downgrading your equipment.
Nowhere is its USB status described. It merely says that it has USB ports, without specifying USB 1.1 or USB 2.0.
I discovered this to my cost when connecting a USB 2.0 hub and USB 2.0 external hard-drive. Pretty unworkable.
