WELL i was a bit scepticle when ia saw a lap top for £299 but i bit the bullet anyway. Thia laptop won't set any speed records as the 256mb of ram is a bit tiny for xp(considering the amount of updating it seems to do the 1st time u switch it on). But i contacted a reputeable memory retailer and sourced a gig of ram for 70 quid. WOW what a difference. Installed the new memory and set the graphics mem to 128mb. Seems ok, can play doom3 and stuff on it now with ease. Battery life in not the best but i've seen worse. For basic web browsing expect 1hr 30 max. Good points though, Screen quality is good(nice wide screen) and it's nice to see a memeory card reader(MMC and SD). 3USB's are also a welcome bonus

Pros:
Easily upgraded for not a lot of cash. Screen quaility is good as is the overall build quality. If u are on a thight budget i would recommend this system(u will need memory upgrade though)
