Toshiba HD-XE1 HD-DVD PLAYER Review
Design
The top of the range Toshiba HD-XE1 is the worlds first HD-DVD player to support a full 1080p picture, this feature is present on many of the new top end televisions and is recognised as the bench mark in picture quality. This feature along with other premium features such as the HDMI 1.3 connectivity makes this a big hitter in the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war.

Features
The HD-XE1 comes packed with top-end features which we are sure will make this player stand out from the crowd. Toshiba have gone a step further and packed this player full of cutting edge features, the first being the HD-XE1 supports the new HDMI 1.3 format which we will be hearing lots more about in the coming year. HDMI 1.3 allows the HD Player to send more data to your HDTV faster, thus in simple terms you get a deeper richer colors and smother shaper faster moving images. Also built in to HDMI 1.3 is a automatic video/audio synching capability which means no more out of time lip-synching on your DVDs we really like this little feature because as we all know out of time video and audio can make some DVDs unbearable to watch.. Another key feature that the Toshiba HD-XE1 supports is 5.1 analogue audio out, this means that when you hook the player up to your external Dolby Digital receiver you will get a Dolby TrueHD surround sound experience. There is an Ethernet input on the back of the HD-XE1 which would give movie makers the opportunity to build in online features in to their titles and also allowing Toshiba to fix any firmware issues should they arise.

TrustedReviews - Toshiba HD-XE1 HD DVD Player At the beginning of the year I looked at Toshibas first European HD DVD player, the HD-E1. The HD-E1 proved to be a very impressive piece of kit, marketed at a bargain price, especially when compared to the competing Blu-ray products at the time. Unusually however, Toshiba chose to release its entry level player before its high end machine, but now I have the flagship HD-XE1 in my possession and.. read | |||
