A review of the Toshiba Regza 47Z3030D 1080p Full HD LCD TV

The Toshiba 47Z3030D LCD TV catches your eye at first glimpse with its stunning sleek frame and mega thin dimensions with a depth of 14.7mm making it perfect for wall mounting or equally as smart on its included stand. The frame is completely black with a silver strip along the bottom section matching the silver boomerang stand.

The features of the Toshiba 47Z3030D include 100Hz Active Vision M100HD, Full HD Ready 120x1080 resolution, 3x HDMI with Deep Colour, 24fps 5:5 Pull Down, Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 15,000:1, MPEG Noise Reduction, 3D Digital Comb Filter, Digital Noise Reduction, 10-Bit Processing, Wide Viewing Angle 178 degrees, SRS WOW and ONKYO Speaker Technology. Connectivity is very good as usual with the Toshiba range with 3 HDMI, Regza Link, Component Video, 2x SCART, S-Video and PC Input. Some features are accessed via the on-screen menu such as Film Stabilisation which acts very much like Image Stabilisation and eliminates image judder but will only work when Cinema Mode and Active Vision are on.

We always expect a good performance from a Toshiba LCD with series past and present and the new Z3030 range does not fail to impress. To start with, Standard Definition images were displayed excellently with great detail and good colour reproduction. Sharpness and clarity stands out and with a good bright film like Bugs Life, the colours are shown brilliantly. Images from the Playstation 3 were shown with great colours, detail and depth too and we struggled to notice and motion judder or noise at all. High definition images are displayed immaculately with a high level of detail and clarity and your eyes will be glued to the screen and we found ourselves inspecting edges and shadows looking for flaws, but they were no where to be found. We did feel that images did struggle slightly more so than with the Toshiba 42X3030D, but definitely not enough to put us off the TV altogether.

The Toshiba 47Z3030D is a very good contender and stands high in the HDTV market. With a good design, great features and an impressive performance, this should definitely be on your shortlist.
