Toshiba introduce a new picture frame design to their range of LCD TV's and it is extremely sleek and modern with a curved frame to add a softer touch to a great TV. The design of the Toshiba 40ZF355D LCD TV is certainly unique with its picture frame looks and mega thin dimensions and a 2.3cm frame as well as the soft rounded edges. The screen stands proud on a solid base and has a glossy black finish with adds a high level of class. |

Toshiba don't usually scrimp on features, however we are a little disappointed to see that there have been a few little extras that other manufacturers are included with their new offerings such as an extra HDMI, card readers and USB ports. However, that aside, Toshiba have included many features which assist in delivering exceptional image quality such as Active Vision 100Hz picture processing, Active Backlight control, Cinema Mode, Film Stabilisation, 5:5 Pull down, 24p True Cinema and 10-bit LCD. |

| Before we got to connecting up our Sky Box, the Toshiba 40ZF355 revealed amazing standard definition images after some tweaking with the controls and if this is all you want the TV for then you will be more than happy with what you get. However, when we did connect up our Sky Box, we were stunned by the images we achieved. The HD images were fantastic and so smooth. Black levels were great with lots of detail and no grey areas, and colour was naturally reproduced with fine details being focused on in particular. Sound was really good too, and we have found this quite a lot lately with the Toshiba range, compared to many other manufacturers, the sound quality always stands out and provides and excellent partnership with stunning images. |

The Toshiba 40ZF355D Full HD 1080p LCD TV is a great TV, with great design and great image enhancing features. There are basic connections, but if you just want a TV to be a TV and not to shine in other areas, then for under £1000 this should definitely be a shortlister. |
