A review of the Sony NWZ-A828 Walkman MP3 Player
The Sony NWZ-A828 series is the latest in the Sony Range and takes over from the NWZ-A810 range.
This new range is super stylish and sleek and competes with the Apple iPod Touch. The front of the MP3 player has a 2.4" 320x240 pixel colour display with a four way navigation pad at the button with a back and options button on either side as well as a dedicated Bluetooth on/off button on the side.
The NWZ-A828 measures 50.2x93.6x9.3mm so it is easily portable and will slip into any pocket. Features The Sony NWZ-A828 Walkman has built-in Bluetooth so can be teamed up with any other wireless Bluetooth devices such as a car stereo, wireless headphones etc. Wireless Bluetooth headphones are supplied. The A828 will support audio formats such as MP3, WMA, AAC and MPEG4 videos as well as the ability to display Album Art. Linking to your Bluetooth mobile phone is very easy and will cut out the music when your phone rings and will provide 36 hours of music or 10 hours of video. Video is shown at 30fps with stunning clarity and can be displayed either vertically or horizontally.
The sound quality is provided by Sony's 3 built-in audio technologies, Clear Stereo, Clear Bass andDSEE digital sound enhancement. Performance Sound and usability have got to be the main features that we look for with an Mp3 player and thankfully, the NWZ-A8128 excels in both these areas. The sound quality is outstanding and easily compares with one of fave's the Creative Zen.
Sony has hit the nail on the head with this one and it certainly excelled beyond our expectations. Each song we listened to ended too soon as the sound was so enjoyable with allinstruments being individually heard and soft tones with deep bass being used to make this a great listening experience. The menu system was easy to navigate and all the main option were at hand. Video was a little disappointing and difficult to upload but the sound outweighs any problems here. The design and performance compared to theiPod Nano and iPod Touch is very similar, however not as thoughtfully designed. Overall Opinion The Sony NWZ-A828 Walkman is excellent value for money and will provide you with great sound and fantastic features.
A real contender in the MP3 world.
