Sony KDL46W2000 LCD 1080P Television Review
Design | ||
| The Sony Bravia KDL 46W2000 HD Ready 1080p LCD TV is a fine looking TV with sleek, slender black framework which surrounds the body elegantly and adds an air of sophistication. There is sexy silver strip that glides across the lower panel of this HDTV and the KDL 46W2000 is supplied with a black stand which is sturdy and strong. The dimensions are 118mm (d) x 755mm (h) x 1120mm (w), excluding the stand so if wall mounted this 1080p HD TV will blend in perfectly without the view of an unsightly bracket. | ||

| The Sony Bravia KDL 46W2000 is a HD Ready LCD TV with a 1080p resolution which means you will be purchasing a top of the range LCD TV which is equipped with the must have ability to view High Definition TV in all its glory. The resolution of the LCD panel is 1920x1080, which is the ultimate HD format and provides you with more than 2 million pixels to ensure your picture is smooth and crystal clear. 1080p is the maximum resolution for HDTV use and is also used for Blu-Ray Disc and the Sony Playstation 3. The Sony KDL 46W2000 is, of course, equipped with the Sony Bravia Engine which will ensure that you receive a vivid and high contrast image, along with the noise reduction process, images are second to none and have spectacular colour reproduction. There are two High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) sockets so connecting your other devices is a breeze and opens up a world of possibilities. An Integrated Digital Tuner is on board so setting up your Bravia is a doddle and will tune into all your terrestrial and freewview channels easily. | ||
| Performance | ||
| We were very excited to hook up the HD ready KDL 46W2000, so we put Shrek 2 in the DVD player and pressed play. We must have looked like dead goldfish as we sat in awe looking at this spectacular sight. The colours were amazing especially in the scene with Shrek and Fiona’s Honeymoon footage as it was so bright and accurate and crystal clear too. So, after witnessing extraordinary colour on make believe people, we though we’d better check out the images of real people and tuned into Top Gear on BBC2. Well, we were even more impressed as realistic tones were brought to the forefront and as they drove an Audi A4 convertible around a cliff side, we saw that every little detail in the rock face was visible and incredible. The sound was just about as impressive and at times we felt lost in the moment and forgot we were reviewing a TV and felt like we had jumped into the TV. We checked out Sky’s HDTV content and the images just got better, so to be assured that you get good pictures at Standard Definition, you know that you can expect only the best when it comes to HD. Sound is supported by Sony’s BBE Digital Audio System and the SRS TruSurround XT mode really does create the feeling of being in the image as sound is superbly real. | ||

| We highly recommend the Sony Bravia KDL46W2000 as HD images as well as Standard Definition images are unbelievably fantastic. Sony have created an impressive HDTV they should be so proud of. | ||
