Sony KDL-40D3000 LCD TV Review
Design
Sony TV’s always look sophisticated and elegant, and the Bravia KDL-40D3000 HD Ready LCD TV is no exception. The slender, glossy black frame accentuates the 40” screen and thin speakers are situated in the bottom section.

Features
The Bravia engine technology that is on board promises to deliver spectacular images with the Live Colour Creation System. Together, they use millions of real colours to relay the exact reproduction of images on the screen. Deeper colours are generated with the WCG-CCFL backlighting system which also ensures colours are shown in their original brilliance. Other features include, a 178-degree wide viewing angle, a dynamic contrast ratio of 8000:1, a static contrast ratio of 1600:1, four aspect modes, a Picture in Picture feature (PIP) and a native resolution of 1366x768 pixels. MotionFlow+100Hz ensures that images are smooth and clear and to create the ultimate cinema experience, 24p True Cinema will provide the best images possible.
Performance
The Sony KDL-40D3000 LCD TV has good connectivity with 3 HDMI inputs, one on the side and two at the rear, as well as three composite video inputs, an s-video input, two component inputs, a PC input and the USB port so that digital camera images can be viewed. Adjusting the KDL-40D3000 is really simple and straight forward and all done through the menu option on the remote. The menu guides you through the options and is very quick at setting up the TV to get a great picture and sound. There are three sound modes to get the best sound from the Dolby Digital Sound system on board as well as the two speakers and sound booster. Colours and depth are superb on this LCD and very natural. The MotionFlow technology obviously works really well to produce such smooth pictures especially with a fast moving footy match on screen.
Overall opinion
The Sony Bravia KDL-40D3000 is great value for money at under £1000 with generous connectivity and full-on features. The performance was great too with very little to whinge about.
