A review of the Sony KDL32V4500 HD Ready LCD TV
Sony are rolling out new Tv's all the time and a new batch of super featured sets are on their way as we speak from the IFA Show in Berlin. However, there are some new models that are available now with great spec and a very reasonable tag. |
Design The Sony KDL-32V4500 HD Ready LCD TV is a new release from Sony and has been given a new and very different design to most of Sony's other ranges. The main frame of the TV is the same but along the bottom section there is a long thin piece that has been removed from the frame leaving a hole. It is a little distracting but once you get used to it your eyes stay on the image itself rather than the big gaping hole. |

There is a Bravia Enigne 2 on board this Sony which promises to deliver superb colours, stunning image quality and with the Advanced Contrast Enhancer some super sharp pictures. There is also Picture frame mode, a USB Photo Viewer, 24p True Cinema, 3 HDMI's and sound is delivered by Virtual Dolby Surround and BBE ViVA Sound Technology. The Personal Image function is a good extra which will turn your TV into a massive photo frame to display all of those precious memories. A contrast ratio of 33,000:1 ensures colours are bright, clear and natural with plenty of detail. |

Obviously supporting 1080p does make a difference to the image displayed but not a major difference if you are looking for an LCD that is good quality at a lower price. This is the main difference between this and Sony KDL-32W4000. High definition images are displayed better with 1080p and standard definition images do benefit from this too. We found only very minor differences between the V4500 and the W4000 and felt that the extra money for the W4000 was not really worth it. Sound is very good too and creates a great partnership with stunning images in an action packed movie. When hooked up to the Playstation 3, games were played brilliantly with smooth actions and great colours. |
