A review of the Sharp LC32RD2E HD Ready LCD TV
Design
Sharp have managed to create a cool, sophisticated LCD TV, yet again, with its sleek black frame and shiny stand this model really catches the eye. Wherever it is placed within your home it will make a centrepiece and add stylish trend to the room. It’s getting rather difficult for manufacturers to be unique with the design of a TV as they are all pretty similar, but Sharp always seem to be more classy, somehow. |
Features
One of the main features that make this TV stand out is the 100Hz Processing Technology that it has been plied with. This speeds up the refresh rate from 8ms to 4ms to create a smoother motion picture. Other manufacturers have used this technology with some pleasing results, so we’ll see how Sharp copes with it when we kick start it. Other features include, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, Film Mode, 2 HDMI inputs, 2 SCARTS, a PC input. Sharp have also included TruD HD technology which claims to reduce rough edges and stuttered movement that appears in fast moving scenes. There is a surround sound feature that attempts to make the most of the restricted speaker system on board as well as a Clear Voice feature which brings dialogue forward, a new feature to us.
Performance
We were very impressed with the performance of the 100Hz Processing Technology that we were so eager to examine. Movements were sharp and crisp, even with the speed of Formula 1 racing cars that we managed to find on a Sky HD channel. Images were crystal clear and we really did struggle to find a flaw at all. Colours and black levels were really good too and had brilliant detail and depth to them. Sound was probably the most impressive we have seen, or heard, so far on an LCD TV. It was loud and clear and where we have found with sound on other brands it is quiet even when at full volume and slightly muffled, this blew that totally out of the water with a great sound that with surround sound will be stunning but even alone was fantastic and very refreshing.
