Sharp Aquos 52XD1E Full High Definition LCD TV review

| Even though this is a 1080 Full High Definition TV it still works the same as other modern HD plasma and LCD TVs. Once you’ve switched the LCD on the programming goes through everything and works out the channels for you. | ||
| Features | ||
| Let’s start by explaining the Full High Definition feature of the Sharp Aquos 52XD1E LCD. While other HD ready TVs provide high definition, because the resolution they had was only 1280x768 pixels some of the information was swashed in. But with this 52XD1E the resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels giving plenty of room for all the information to be transmitted. It’s a bit like a large, fat juicy beef burger being swashed into a small bap – it will still taste good but will look so much better placed in larger bap. So as well as a 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Aquos XD1E will also have 450cd/m2 brightness and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. It has a response rate of 4ms giving fast pixel change and Quick Shoot technology for fast moved pictures. This HD LCD also comes with Sharp’s DCE (Dynamic Contrast Enhancement) as well as its Advanced Optical Picture Control (OPC) and it has two HDMI inputs, NICAM/A2 Stereo, two Scart connections, a PC input, and built-in Freeview. The widescreen Sharp Aquos XD1E also has 176 x 176 degree viewing. | ||

| Overall Opinion | ||
| So far so good, we really like the simple design of the Sharp FHD LCD. It’s the kind of television that will fit into any living room. And the fact it has a 176 degree viewing means you don’t have to position it perfectly to be able to view the widescreen facilities. And Sharp have provided everything you would need for this to be a fully functioning HD TV – with two HDMI inputs as well as a PC connection it’s totally futureproof, and obviously being a 1920 x 1080 resolution means your viewing experience will be even better than before. |
