Excellent set of earphones. For those that do not like the in-ear type, but also do not want to carry large headphones these are perfect. The engineers at Sennheiser have obviously done their homework on these headphones. Unlike most other headphones the PX 200 are fully portable. The phones have been designed to fold flat by means of two mechanisms. The first is on the headband where the arms bend in on themselves. Next the earphone part rotates through ninety degrees to allow the earphone to sit underneath the already folded arm. What this means is that when folded the earphones are no larger than the average size women’s purse. Couple this with excellently designed carry case, which allows easy and proper storage of the cable, then you have a product that is difficult to describe as earphones or headphones, they are essentially both in a single product. Sound quality is excellent with a good balance of treble, and bass. The sound is very natural and copes admirably with anything from Tchaikovsky, Led Zeppelin to Faithless. They also have an excellent volume range with little or no distortion. I regularly have my iPod up full and the sound remains excellent. They are extremely comfortable and light. Like large headphones they cover your ear but unlike headphones they only cover the part that actually receives sound and as such are not bulky or cumbersome. Like earphones they are very light but unlike earphones they do not hurt my ears or continually fall out. After a while you will hardly notice they are there. They have a noise reducing effect that prevents most extraneous noises from spoiling your enjoyment of your music, without completely eradicating all external noise so if you use these on a bus or walking to work you will still be aware of things happening around you. They are excellent for flying as they help reduce engine noise. I looked at other headphones and earphones but found that these combined everything I was looking for. |
