A review of the Samsung YP-K3 MP3 Player

The Samsung YP-K3 has been dubbed the speaker-less K5, which is very true and without the sliding speaker, the Samsung K3 MP3 player is in a league of its own. With great features and a great sound, we know where we’d put our money.

Design
The Samsung YP-K3 MP3 player is the thinnest MP3 player that Samsung have managed to squeeze out and a good job they have done too. This skinny model is only 0.27 inches or 6.95mm thin and is very lightweight at only 50g so will be an ideal partner for any occasion. Although very similar in appearance to the iPod Nano, the K3 has a few distinct differences, one being the light up touch menu buttons that are very responsive and bright. Another difference is the funky icons that appear through the menu function. The shiny, glossy finish is very sleek and we predict that the Samsung K3 will be very popular with anyone with any taste. Samsung has announced that the YP-K3 will be available in Lime and Cherry Red as well as the more tasteful black.
Features
The Samsung YP-K3 is very nearly a mirror image of the earlier model, the K5, apart from the sliding speaker that it had. The K3 can store up to 4000 MP3 tracks and tunes into FM radio without a care in the world. There’s a built-in jpeg viewer so download your images and check them out on the bright clear full colour 1.8” screen.  The battery life is impressive with a playback time of 25 hours so your days out will certainly be carefree and you will have all of your favourite tunes to hand. In order to turn the Samsung K3 into a ghetto-blaster like its sibling, you are able to purchase a speaker dock which will set you back around £20, nothing really for the ability to share your tunes with those around you. The Samsung doesn’t restrict you to one source of music as it is compatible with all the major operating systems and with MP3, WMA and ASF audio file formats. Available in three sizes (2GB, 4GB and 8GB), the Samsung YP-K3 can hold up to 4000 WMA tracks (8GB). The superb sound performance is all thanks to Samsung’s DNSe (Digital Natural Sound engine) technology which creates a 3D surround sound using a dedicated sound engine, so you can be assured that the sound will be second to none.
Performance
We will update the performance of the Samsung K3 MP3 player very soon when we have road tested it, so come back soon.

Review: Samsung YP-K3 mp3 player
