A review of the Samsung NV11 10.1MP digital camera
Samsung retain the analogue design of its digital camera range but introduce to us a state of the art camera with unique features that make this model stand out in a crowd. The Samsung NV11 has arrived.
Design |
It is certainly not the most attractive of digital cameras and would not win any awards for being Supermodel of the Year as Samsung have ensured that the NV range retains its analogue looks and feel. The NV11 is a strong and sturdy model which looks as though it has been chiseled at to create the blocky form that it is. Its standard black finish also adds to the slightly dated look of it and Samsung have included the blue ring around the lens that is now a recognizable feature of the NV range.![]() |
| Features |
| The 10.1 mega pixels are joined with a 5x optical zoom Schneider lens as well as other features such as Face Recognition technology which we all know, focuses on a face within an image and ensures clarity and sharpness and accurate focus, along with Anti-Shake Reduction. The NV11is able to capture moving images at 30 fps (frames per second) in TV quality MPEG-4 VGA format, ensuring they are crisp and clear. A 2.7” TFT colour LCD screen is on the rear of the NV11 and has a Smart Touch user interface which makes looking through menu options and reviewing your images a breeze as well as being a bright and large display. There is a red-eye fix function, an Advanced Movie function with in camera editing facilities, 12 scene modes for the perfect shot and these are features are all down to the Digimax Master on board. |
| Performance |
Image quality is very good with the lens ensuring that they are focused from corner to corner and detail is brilliant, thanks to the 10.1 MP sensor which also ensures that colour reproduction is very natural and bright. The touch screen interface proves to be very successful and very easy to use which also describes the camera as a whole. Images were good at ISO 100 & 200 but when we assessed the images taken at ISO 800 and higher we found that they had high levels of image noise and were unfortunately unusable. ![]() |
| Overall Opinion |
| The Samsung NV11 has great features and is excellent value for money. A unique feature is the Smart Touch interface which makes it a littlemorefun to use than other digital cameras. Images were very good which very little to complain about. |
