The Samsung HD 950 DVD player is an eye catcher in design as it is a sleek, slim and slender looking machine that will grab your attention. If you are looking for picture quality when watching your DVDs this player will not disappoint, particularly if it’s hooked up to a HDTV. The HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) makes connection easy, just one cable to plug in for you to enjoy the superior quality of digital audio and video. Through up-conversion technology the HD 950 displays picture resolution of 480p, 720p and 1080i and with the aspect-ratio control you can control the picture size of 16:9 and 4:3 formats that include Normal, Letterbox, Widescreen Pan and scan. Playable formats are DVD video, DVD audio and SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc), you also get 6 channel out and DVI output. 

Overall Opinion

The Samsung HD 950 DVD player is a sleek piece of technology that will give you exceptional digital picture and sound quality from you DVD collection as well as value for money. We love the fact that it's able to display picture resolution of up to 1080i, and we think this is a very good option to enjoy the full potential of current HDTV sets (at least until the launch of the first HD DVD Player).
