A review of the Pioneer Kuro PDP-LX6090 Plasma TV
One of the most important aspects to mention about the Pioneer PDP-LX6090 Plasma TV is its stunning design. We were recently blown away whilst testing the smaller 50" model (Pioneer PDP-LX5090) and the design in exceptional. For a TV of this size the simplistic but effective design stands out with no visible buttons or controls on the front of the screen. With a depth of only 93mm, which we think it remarkable for a TV of this size, this set can be wall mounted and will look spectacular or even on a stand as impressive without taking up too much space. |
| Features |
| The Kuro range which Pioneer have graced us with, brings black levels to a whole new life and promises to deliver the deepest and most detailed levels ever seen, along with the best colour reproduction. With Kuro meaning black in Japanese, this range sets a new high standard for all other manufacturers and so far we have failed to see another with such dramatic levels. Other features include Intelligent Picture Analysis ensuring even the finest details are displayed, AV Optimum Mode creates the best colour, contrast and brightness required, Direct Colour Filter, 24fps for ultimate movie viewing. |
| Performance |
This may sound unusual, but words fail us when we want to explain the amazing, outstanding and staggering performance of the most perfect TV ever created. Pioneer have pioneered an amazing step in technology with the Pioneer PDP-LX6090. Blacks have never been so black and colours have never been so colourful, there are so many details in every scene and Blu-ray movies or HD DVD movies display image quality simply out of this world. High definition images are the best we've ever seen and standard definition images are the best we've ever seen. You probably get the message now that this really is a perfect TV. The only downside to the LX6090 is the rather hefty pricetag of around £4000. You really do get your moneys worth, but there are other models on the market that are too impressive for a much more affordable price. |
