The Pioneer Home Cinema Sysyem Review
editor

The Pioneer DSC-240 Home Cinema System is priced for the entry-level customer. Pioneer has delivered exceptional performance, style and expertise at an affordable price for those that want to upgrade to the surround sound experience.
Set-up is relatively easy, helped by the connection colour coding system Pioneer has included with the system. The DCS-240 comprises of 5 speakers that provides a full surround sound experience with the minimum of fuss, it can be set up to produce a virtual surround sound without the hassle of a major wiring exercise or configured to be used as a full 5.1 surround sound system as the top of the side speakers are detachable to allow for full 5.1 set-up, and the system supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Prologic II and DTS. The system will take DVD, VCD, SVCD as well as audio CDs and plays DivX, MP3 WMA and JPEG file formats; the system also comes with an AM/FM radio tuner with 30 presets.

The design of the home cinema system is stylishly designed and should not be too imposing once set-up, and when configured you will be able to enjoy the full surround sound experience when watching your favourite films. As well as great sound, the picture quality is sharp and colours are realistic and vibrant. The system will have to be configured manually, unfortunately there is not any intelligent functions that automatically adjusts the system to optimise performance in its environment. There are surround modes however that includes; DTS, Stereo, Auto, Action, Drama. Rock, Pop, Hall and Live.
This entry-level home cinema system is not the most sophisticated system on the market, but at the price you are getting a well-known brand that delivers great picture and surround sound without breaking the bank.
