Panasonic Viera TH42PX60 42 Review

Although LCD TV's rule up to 32", when you go higher you will need to look at Plasma's. And when looking for a good quality Plasma TV there is no better manufacturer than Panasonic. The new Viera range is slightly cheaper than the older models, this I am sure is due to increased competition from the likes of Samsung and LG. The new Viera has to be said to looks a bit bland. It seems to have lost the designer touch that it once had. Although, what the new Viera has lost in looks it has made up for in all important connections. There are two HDMI inputs which mean you will be able to hook up your SKYHD and your HD DVD player at the same time without have to reach around and start unplugging boxes. There is a PC Input for playing the latest LOST downloads as well as the more mundane S-Video and Component Video In.
The TH-42PX60 is fully HD-Ready with a native resolution of 1024 x 768 which allows you to display the very best picture from your HD source. There is also a built-in digital tuner with Freeview. The picture quality is excellent, as good as we have ever seen. The black colours are very clean and there is no black blocking that you get with less impressive screens. Skin tones look life like and soft. Panasonic produce this excellent picture using what they call V-Real which is a collection of Panasonic's picture enhancing technologies which help to produce 29 Billion colors. The Panasonic TH42PX60 (HD-Ready) is the latest offering from Panasonic's Viera range of plasma televisions. 
If you are seriously looking at buying this Plasma and getting the best out of it, you will need to be looking for a quality Home Theater System. The speakers attached are fine for watching terrestrial TV, but for watching DVD's the picture quality far outweighs the sound that is being outputted by the speakers.
