Nintendo DS Console Review

editor

The Nintendo DS Games Console. The Nintendo DS is an innovation in portable gaming devices. The unit opens in a clamshell style to reveal a Dual Screen console, which brings gamers a new perspective when playing: The bottom screen is touch-sensitive; players control games from this screen while viewing the action on the upper LCD screen. The console has functionality buttons, and a directional pad, set along side the Touch-Screen for navigating through games and stereo speakers are along-side the upper LCD screen, there is also a head phone jack and built-in microphone. The screen display of the Nintendo DS is 256x192 pixels giving 260,000 colours, which will provide excellent graphic display. The device has dual slots, which allows inserting the existing GBA games and also accepts the latest DS game cards. An interesting feature is the wireless communications; with 802.11b and an application called PictoChat up to 15 people can communicate over a wireless connection. Other features include a Clock, Calendar and Alarm. The battery life will power the DS for between 6-10 hours, which is extremely good compared to other portable gaming devices. The design is not the sleekest on the market and it may be a little too bulky to carry around in your pocket, but for the gaming experience and the price it is a great buy.
