LG 26LX2R 26 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television Review
editor
![]() | The LG 26LX2R LG have delivered a slick looking 26-inch LCD TV, and looking at unbeatable price comparisons the range is between £680-£760. The first thing you need to know is the 26LX2R is HD-Ready, broadcasting is going this way so it's the best investment when buying a new TV; as well as having 2 Scart inputs it also has HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface): HDMI works much the same as Scart, bring video picture and sound to your TV, the difference is it works digitally so you get superior picture and sound quality. The picture quality is excellent, with 1366x768 resolution and progressive scanning you will not be disappointed. The sound quality is good but not as refined as the picture, it is fitted with Nicam Digital Stereo; however sub-woofers are not included which flattens the sound quality some what. If you can invest a little more in a HD-Ready TV go for a 32-inch display or larger to enjoy the benefits of a High Definition TV, but for the quality and style this HDTV is a bargain at these prices. |
Overall Opinion
If we have to be honest (and we are), the LG 26LX2R HDTV is not the best LCD HDTV we have seen from LG. The image quality is excellent, but we don't think the sound quality is that good; although you can always connect it to a surround sound system to really have a cinema like experience when watching a movie. If cost is not an issue for you, we recommend you to go for the bigger 32-inch model.
