JVC LT32DG8 Review
Design
The design of the JVC LT32DG8 LCD TV is quite basic, but it looks good although rather bulky. The frame of the screen is very square with sharp edges and is finished in the popular glossy black coating. The speakers are located at the bottom of the screen and the buttons are placed on the side panel rather than on the front, however the menu cannot be accessed through these and the remote must be used. The remote is long with large buttons which we like and is very lightweight and organised nicely.

Features
Unfortunately, the LT32DG8 does not support 1080p, however it does display 720p and downscaled 1080i high definition signals. It features the latest DynaPix Plus picture processing system with MaxxBass and IDTV (Integrated Digital TV Receiver) and an array of connections on the back panel. These connections do not include AV inputs such as composite and S-Video, however there are 2 HDMI inputs, 2 SCARTS and component inputs. Models such as the Samsung LE32R87 have 3 HDMI’s offering extra connectivity for a HD DVD Player, Playstation 3 and Sky HD box all at once, for example, without having to change them over. The number of advanced settings was quite impressive as there are various noise-reduction and picture-management modes to improve your images if needed and we particularly liked the sound options as ambience and virtual surround can be added to create the correct atmosphere for a movie for example.
Performance
The colours displayed on the LT32DG8 were clear, bright and vibrant, however black levels need more attention although textures and details were displayed well especially in Freeview programmes. High definition images are brilliant with clear edges and amazing clarity and movies are a pleasure to watch as they are full of great detail and colour. The sound is the only area that we can complain about and many TV manufacturers seem to struggle with this. On this TV in particular sound is muffles and not clear or loud even with the volume at full. Like we have suggested before, a good surround system will soon rectify this.
Overall Opinion
The JVC LT32GD8 is an average HD LCD TV with great colour reproduction although the sound left a lot to be desired. Definitely worth a look for the reasonable price.
