Review of the Cellink BTST-9000D Wireless Headset for Sport

The BTST-9000D are very cool looking with a stylish black and white contemporary design. The obscure shape sets them aside from all the other round, monotonous designs. The plastic band is collapsible ready for storage and easy travel. The microphone is also retractable for added convenience and storage. They are extremely light so as not to hinder you whilst you exercise. On the headphones themselves, there is a power button, volume adjuster and a play and pause button. It comes with a remote control too.

When you are out and about or in the gym, the BTST-9000D give you the option to listen to your MP3 player, iPod, Hi-Fi or PDA, whilst giving you the ability to chat on your phone too. When you are listening to music via Bluetooth the BTST-9000D will pause you music if you receive a phone call and automatically route it through for you to answer, when you have finished you can then hang up. You can play and pause your music from the headphones too. The BTST-9000D gives you a 10 metre Bluetooth range so you can leave your devices in your pocket or handbag whilst you dance around the room to your favourite tunes. Cellink claim that the high-capacity lithium battery will last for 6.5 hours.

Cellink were true to their word as far as battery life went as we got exactly 6.5 hours out of it whilst taking incoming calls and listening to our iPod 20GB. We ran for 30 minutes on the treadmill and we looked out for slipping or discomfort, but once we had adjusted the band, the BTST-9000D sat comfortably without budging. Answering calls was automatic as promised which we liked. They were the perfect companion for the gym as they take away the need for annoying ring tones which always create a scene. The earphones were comfortable, even when we had worked up a bit of a sweat they didn‘t move a muscle. We were in the gym at 7.45am which is one of the busiest times when the noise levels are high so we really cranked up the volume to see what the BTST-9000D could do. We did have to crank the volume up almost to the top to get a good audio performance but once it was there, it provided good bass and clear audio all round. Dialogue on phonecalls was equally as good, no sign of any muffled voices or any other pitfalls to mention.

Overall, the BTST-9000D Wireless Headset put on a impressive show in all areas . They fold away and store well for travel, they wear well, especially when put to the sweaty running test and more importantly, they sound smashing. We don’t think you’ll get better for £60.  If you are feeling flush you may want to consider models such as the GN Netcom 9120 ST Wireless Headset or the Plantronics C65 Wireless Headset.
