Apple iPod shuffle (1 GB, M9725LL/A) MP3 Player Review
editor
The iPod Shuffle is a small, stylish, compact and easy to use MP3 player. It is great if you are looking to buy an affordable entry level MP3 player or if you already have a larger iPod and you are looking for a compact alternative for commuting, jogging, a workout at the gym or time by the beach; it is a flash-based player so no skipping on tracks. The Shuffle comes in two sizes, 512MB and 1GB. The 512MB will hold up to 120 songs and the 1GB 240 and the battery will give you up to 12 hours of playtime. The Shuffle has a unique feature when loading music from your computer; it will sync with iTunes and from your library make a random selection of tracks, so you don’t know what’s coming up next, if you prefer some control over your music you can drag over selected tracks individually: Syncing is straightforward, either plug the Shuffle directly into a USB port or connect via the Dock Connector, the battery will charge while syncing. Using the controls couldn’t be simpler; the circular control button lets you set the volume, skip tracks, repeat, pause and play, and the slider control selects Play in Order, Shuffle mode and power off, that’s all there is to it. The accessories that come with the iPod Shuffle help to give you more versatility, with the lanyard you can wear it around your neck, press play and go, the splash sports case gives some protection when by the pool or on the beach and the Armband is great when at the gym or out for a run, or simply put it in you pocket as long as you check your jeans before they are put in the wash as the Shuffle is about the same size as a packet of chewing gum.
Overall Opinion
We wanted an iPod when it first saw it. Then we wanted the iPod nano and the iPod video. So do we really want an Apple iPod Shuffle MP3 Player? The answer is yes. Why? Because of it's small size that allows us to take it jogging (not that we go jogging very often). We don't see the Apple iPod Shuffle MP3 Player as a replacement to your iPod, but more like the perfect accessory for it.
