June 7th is the date that has been announced for the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference which will take place at San Francisco's Moscone West. Apple have stated that the five day event will include iPad development sessions for the first time ever as well as Mac OS X core technology labs, and the most interesting bit, hands-on working labs for iPhone OS 4.
The conference is a fantastic opportunity for apps developers to work with Apple to ensure their work is heading in the right direction and have hands-on advice from Apple engineers and technicians. Tickets can be bought on the Apple site for a mere $1599.
Apple are again providing specific focus on the iPhone OS 4, which indicates that it could be announced at this conference or that it will follow soon with an announcement date. Apple need to time the launch just right with the ever-growing smartphone market that is swamping the iPhone focus and with very fierce rivals in the form of the Nokia N8, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, HTC Desire and the Android based Google Nexus One.
Since Gizmodo spilt the beans on just about all we needed to know about the iPhone 4, there have been many interesting rivals (above) which have specs far batter than the iPhone 4, so we hope that Apple have something extra special under their belt to make the iPhone 4 stand out in the smartphone crowd.
