It's no secret that Apple (the company that brought you us the iMac, iPod and iPhone) is releasing a touchscreen tablet computer in around a months time, if you didn't know this then you must have been living in a cave for at least 6 months. After announcing the iPad was available for pre-order literally hundreds of thousands of people rushed online to secure the product in pre-sale form, ready for delivery or collection in store (expect to queue...a lot!).
With expert analysts predicting the first wave of iPads will sell out very fast, it seems every man and his dog is ordering ahead to try and grab one early and avoid disappointment next month. Rumours have circulated the web of orders exceeding 120,000 in the first 24 hours of pre-sales availability, slowing thereafter to 150,000 orders after 72 hours. At this rate the iPad could sell a million units faster than the iPhone did when it was originally released.
If you're looking to grab one for yourself then you'd better hurry up and order one to avoid disappointment, as there will be inevitable delays.
