Two Viruses Affect TomTom Go910
Viruses are causing headaches for two major firms this week, Bernard Matthews, and now TomTom Satellite Navigation giant TomTom has declared a number of their products recently shipped to the UK may have two types of virus. | TomTom admit the device affected by the viruses is the TomTomGo 910 sat nav systems with preinstalled Malware, which were shipped last year. In TomTom's latest statement it said: “It has come to our attention that a small, isolated number of TomTom GO 910s, produced between September and November 2006, may be infected with a virus. Appropriate actions have been taken to make sure this is prevented from happening again in the future.” | | | Experts believe the problems are due to there being two anti-virus programs running at the same time. The malware versions currently running on the Go 910 are ‘win32.Perlovga.A Trojan’ and ‘TR/Drop.Small.qp’. They advise users to remove the Trojans using anti-virus software. TomTom believe the device, and more importantly their customer’s safety will be unaffected by the removal of any malware. Anyone who is concerned should visit TomTom's official website here a statement has been published. |
