This little wonder also has the ability to store up to 15 hours of HD footage, which Canon state, is the equivalent to 28 DVD’s of movies. Canon has ensured the best and most important features that it has ever designed are included too such as a HD Video Lens with 10x optical zoom and Super Range OIS (as used by photographers in the 2006 World Cup), Instant Auto Focus, DIGIC DV II, a Navigation Control Dial, Quick Start and a long life battery, Full Connectivity. The Canon Full HD CMOS Sensor captures images at 1,920x1,080px resolution.
Canon has also thrown in some groundbreaking technology, which is actually more likely to break the ground rather than the camcorder as a two stage shock protection system will ensure that any severe knocks or drops will not cause damage by working together to cover the important reading and writing head mechanism’s inside. Almost like a hedgehog rolling up to protect itself! Canon also state, the HG10 is the first Canon Camcorder to feature the Navigation Control Dial which is incorporated in the 2.7” LCD flip out screen. This dial is similar to many found on MP3 Players and Media Players such as the Apple iPod and iPod Shuffle. This dial allows users to operate key functions with ease and select footage and thumbnail clips by browsing through with a simple spin of the dial rather than accessing complicated menu systems. A special CINE image setting is also available to add an authentic movie feel to footage and the HG10 is capable of filming at 25fps. The Canon HG10 Full HD camcorder will be available from October 2007.
